Neiroha Labs LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Preludio mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
Information We Collect
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Preludio stores all of your personal content locally on your device. This includes:
- User Profile Information: Name and avatar color preference
- Practice Data: Practice session dates, durations, mood ratings, and notes
- Song Library: Song names, composers, categories, and ratings
- Lesson Notes: Text entries, photos, and videos you capture during lessons
- App Preferences: Settings such as metronome tempo and review mode preferences
This data is stored in a local database on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Information Sent for Processing (PRO Feature)
If you are a PRO subscriber and enable AI summaries, the following data is sent to our AI summary service for processing:
- Lesson Note Content: The text of your lesson notes, tags, and timestamps
- Entry Metadata: Creation dates and entry types
Note: Photos and videos are NOT sent to our servers—only text content and metadata are transmitted.
Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, we automatically collect certain information to help us improve the App and fix issues:
Analytics Data (via Mixpanel)
- An anonymous Installation ID (a randomly generated identifier unique to your app installation)
- App usage events such as starting or completing practice sessions
- Subscription status (free or pro)
- General feature usage patterns
Crash and Error Reports (via Sentry)
- App crash logs and error information
- Device and operating system information
- App version and build number
- Screenshots and diagnostic data when errors occur
This information is collected anonymously and cannot be used to personally identify you.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide App Functionality: Store and manage your practice data, songs, and lesson notes locally on your device
- Generate AI Summaries (PRO): Process your lesson notes through our AI summary service (hosted on Cloudflare, powered by OpenAI) to create summaries (optional, can be disabled)
- Improve the App: Analyze anonymous usage patterns to understand which features are most valuable
- Fix Issues: Identify and resolve bugs, crashes, and technical problems
- Process Purchases: Facilitate in-app purchases through Apple's App Store
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
Mixpanel (Analytics)
We use Mixpanel to collect anonymous usage analytics. Mixpanel receives your anonymous Installation ID and app usage events. For more information, see Mixpanel's Privacy Policy.
Sentry (Error Tracking)
We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error logs. This helps us identify and fix problems in the App. For more information, see Sentry's Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare Workers (AI Summaries - PRO Feature Only)
For PRO subscribers who enable AI summaries, we operate an AI summary service hosted on Cloudflare Workers. When you request a summary, your lesson note text, tags, and timestamps are sent to our service, which forwards them to OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini for processing. The generated summary is then returned to your device and stored locally.
Important:
- This is an optional PRO feature that can be disabled in Settings
- Only text content is sent—photos and videos remain on your device
- Generated summaries are stored locally on your device
- Your lesson data is deleted immediately after processing—we do not retain your lesson content after the summary is generated
For more information, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
Apple (In-App Purchases)
Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. Apple's handling of your data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Superwall (Paywall Management)
We use Superwall to display subscription paywalls and manage in-app purchase flows. Superwall collects:
- An anonymous device identifier (generated by Superwall)
- Paywall interaction events (views, dismissals, purchases)
- A/B test experiment participation data
- Basic device and app information
No personal information, user IDs, or practice data is shared with Superwall. For more information, see Superwall's Privacy Policy.
Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: All your personal content (practice data, songs, lesson notes, photos, and videos) is stored locally on your device
- Limited Cloud Processing: With the exception of AI summaries (PRO feature, optional), we do not upload your personal content to remote servers. When enabled, only lesson note text is sent to our AI summary service (which forwards it to OpenAI for processing)—the generated summary is returned and stored locally
- Data Deletion: Your locally stored data is deleted when you uninstall the App
- Anonymous Analytics: Analytics data sent to third-party services uses only anonymous identifiers
Device Permissions
The App may request the following permissions:
- Camera: To capture photos and videos for your lesson notes
- Photo Library: To save captured photos and videos to your device's photo library (optional feature)
- Microphone: For audio playback features such as the metronome
You can manage these permissions at any time through your device's Settings.
Children's Privacy
Preludio is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email address below, and we will take steps to delete such information.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access Your Data: All your practice data is stored locally on your device and accessible within the App
- Delete Your Data: You can delete all your data by uninstalling the App from your device
- Disable AI Summaries: PRO subscribers can disable AI summary generation at any time in Settings → Lesson Settings
- Opt Out of Analytics: You can limit analytics collection by enabling "Limit Ad Tracking" in your device settings
Data Retention
- Local Data: Retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App
- Analytics Data: Retained by Mixpanel according to their data retention policies
- Crash Reports: Retained by Sentry according to their data retention policies

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on our website. Changes are effective when they are posted.
